I was raised in western New York where I met my husband. Jim joined the Air Force and we were able to explore the world, being stationed in Maine, Florida, England and Kansas. I received a BFA from the University of Maine, studying painting and photography. I was also fortunate enough to be able to hone my skills on the pottery wheel. I have worked professionally in the Marketing Field for 15 years, I have worked for the Air Force, supporting active duty members and their families and most recently the American Diabetes Association where I learned so much about the disease, insurance, the progress our country has made in the care of chronic disease, and the opportunity we have to do better. Serving the community I live in has always been very important to me. I look forward to continued community service and the forward progress of our country.
Our children are grown and doing wonderful things in the world; and I am back to painting after 20 years of ‘occasional’ creating.
There is a learning curve coming back to painting, my skills are not what they were when I left college. This blog is intended to keep me accountable and record my challenges and hopefully progress.
I also hope this blog will help me communicate with the art community, meet people who I can share with, receive and offer support.
Feel free to contact me about any of the art you see on this site or a piece you’d like commissioned.
